Corporate profile

Resgen is an emerging ASX- and JSE-listed coal producer, developing the Boikarabelo Coal Mine in South Africa’s Waterberg region. The mine is currently under construction, with first production of saleable coal planned for the last quarter of 2018. The resource is 6.4 billion tonnes, providing an estimated 200 year life of mine.

Corporate structure diagram

The company has reported Probable Reserves of 744.8 million tonnes of coal on 35% of the tenements under its ownership.

Stage 1 of the mine development targets saleable coal production of 6 million tonnes a year.

Stage 2 – plans to double the volumes of stage 1.

The intention is to split the saleable coal production equally between domestic and export sales.

The mining plan is based on three principles:

  • safety
  • coal recovery
  • productivity

and four objectives:

  • to maximise yield
  • to minimise out-of-pit dumping of waste
  • to achieve 6 million tonnes a year of clean coal production
  • to maximise recovery of the deposit by mining all seams

Exploration has been completed and all regulatory approvals to start operations have been received.
